The Client
Girls Deserve Safety, Opportunity and a Future
Treasured Vessels Girls' Centre is a registered, women-led community organisation that has been working with girls and families in Jinja District, Uganda since 2018. It walks with vulnerable girls, teenage mothers and women through the moments that decide the rest of their lives. Antenatal support and mother kits for young mothers, help through delivery, and sponsorship that keeps both a girl and her child in school. Alongside that runs practical, income-earning training in tailoring, hairdressing, soap making, crafts, shoe making, computer skills and vegetable growing, so a woman leaves with a livelihood rather than a certificate. Counselling is grouped by age and covers the real ground: managing a household, raising children well, self-respect, and standing against gender-based violence in their own communities. The centre also runs menstrual hygiene education in local schools and takes its outreach beyond Jinja, including to families displaced by flooding in Mbale.
The Project
Treasured Vessels came to 7 Marketing needing a website that could do two jobs at once: tell the story of the girls and women at the centre of the work, and give supporters, many of them overseas, a clear and trustworthy way to give. For a grassroots organisation asking people to fund work they will probably never see in person, credibility has to be earned in the first few seconds on the page.
We designed and developed a warm, story-led site built around exactly that. The homepage leads with the centre's own conviction (that girls deserve safety, opportunity and a future) then immediately backs it with the things a thoughtful donor actually looks for: that this is a registered, women-led organisation, that it has been on the ground in Jinja District since 2018, and that its programs are delivered locally and accounted for. From there the site opens out into the programs, the impact and the stories behind the numbers, with a donate path within reach on every screen.
It is built mobile-first with search engine optimisation and structured data so the centre can be found by supporters, partners and grant-makers looking for this kind of work, and it is simple enough for the team in Uganda to keep current as new stories, news and program updates come through.
